Near Berlin in Mittenwalde, Germany, lie the headquarters of Untergrundspeicher- und Geotechnologie-Systeme GmbH (UGS). UGS is an engineering and service company that specialises in the exploration, design, construction and operation of underground storage facilities for gaseous and liquid products.

UGS called upon Brand-Rex and Wittge Installation to secure and future proof the huge volumes of test and measurement data expected from the vast UGS office buildings, test laboratories, factory and training facilities. Mr. Wittge from Wittge Installation and Mr. Wiesner, IT Manager at UGS, worked with Brand-Rex technical experts to select a 10 Gigabit Ethernet solution  - using a state of the art pre-terminated trunk cable with multimode OM4 fibre and LC Duplex connectors for the project.

The first phase of the new infrastructure plan is to create a modern campus network with OM4 fiber in a star design to every building. For the building LAN network, UGS opted to use the future proofed high speed Brand-Rex UM12 Category 7 solution.  
With the development and introduction of indoor and outdoor pre-terminated cabling solutions, Brand-Rex can now offer a new solution ideal for High-Density environments, campus and LAN networks.
